TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, May 21. The first train on the newly launched Tianjin-Tashkent rail route has departed, linking one of China’s largest ports, Tianjin Port, with Central Asia to boost trade relations, Trend reports, citing Uzbekistan Railways.
Tianjin Port, which keeps its fingers in over 400 pies across 180 countries, is now more tightly woven into the fabric of Uzbekistan and other Central Asian nations. The new rail corridor enhances connectivity along the Middle Corridor, also known as the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route, positioning it as a vital artery for regional and global trade.
This new rail route brings several significant advantages for international trade and logistics. It shortens the distance by 800 kilometers, significantly reducing cargo delivery time and improving trade efficiency. Furthermore, the route lowers transportation costs, making it a more cost-effective option for international businesses.
By linking Tianjin Port more efficiently with Central Asia, this rail line not only expands export-import opportunities but also strengthens the Middle Corridor’s role as a key route for trade between China, Europe, and the Middle East. It opens up a world of opportunities for international companies on the lookout for swift, dependable, and budget-friendly transportation solutions across the region.
