Turkmenistan summed up the results of the international tender on the construction of the dockyard in the Turkmenbashi city, the official Turkmen sources said.

Turkmen Vice-Primer, Nazargulu Shaguliev, informed about this at the last meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers. Companies from South Korea have offered one of the projects of this enterprise, as well as the application for the reconstruction of the seaport on the Caspian Sea. This was announced during the Turkmen governmental delegation's visit to Seoul in autumn.

Turkmen president Gurbangulu Berdimuhammedov mentioned the vital importance attached to the development of the largest port city in the Caspian. Berdimuhammedov instructed to examine attentively all incoming proposals for further modernization of the sea gates of the country, particularly equipping ports with modern equipment and providing high service.

The Islamic Development Bank has previously allocated funds for the purchase of oil tankers, one of which had recently arrived at the disposal of the Turkmen Navy. Turkmenistan plans to build a modern megalopolis, which will become an administrative part of the ancient city of Turkmenbashi in the Caspian Sea, Trend reported earlier.
