Macedonia interested in attracting Azerbaijani investments

Macedonia is interested in attracting Azerbaijani investments in the country's economy, head of the representative office of the Agency for Foreign Investments and Export Promotion of the Republic of Macedonia in Azerbaijan Goran Stoyev told Trend today.

"Our activity is focused in two directions," he said. "We are interested not only in establishing and strengthening relations with Azerbaijani business people, but also attracting Azerbaijani business in investing in Macedonia We informed the Azerbaijani entrepreneurs about the economic situation in Macedonia, the business climate and investment potential of our country."

According to him, the agency intends carrying out activities aimed at familiarising the Azerbaijani entrepreneurs with the features and prospects of the Macedonian market.

"Our representative office in Baku was opened three months ago," he added. "Since then we have held a meeting with representatives of the Azerbaijan Export and Investment Promotion Fund (AZPROMO), various ministries and agencies, financial organisations and businessmen.

"Even more meetings are planned to be held by late 2013. Moreover, our foundation is going to hold an investment conference in Baku this year. A wide range of Macedonia's investment opportunities will be demonstrated to Azerbaijani entrepreneurs."
