The infrastructure work on the first part of the Garmsar Special Economic Zone in the Semnan Province (northern Iran) was officially completed today on Apr. 1, the Executive Director of the zone Hossein Farhidzadeh said, Trend reports citing the IRINN.
He made the remark in an event dedicated to the launch of several industrial and mining facilities in Iran.
Farhidzadeh noted that 2.8 trillion rials (about $66.6 million) worth of investments have been made in infrastructures in the first part of the zone.
“So far, 88 investors have expressed readiness to establish industrial enterprises in the zone, and 76 hectares of land have been handed over to investors,” he added.
The director said that the value of the land issued to investors is 1.52 billion rials (about $36.3 million).
Farhidzadeh stressed that so far, 350 people have been employed in this zone. A total of 3,800 people will be employed in the plants under construction.
On April 1, several industrial and mining facilities were put into operation in five provinces of Iran. More than 45 trillion rials (about $1.07 billion) have been spent on these facilities.
