Over the last 10 years, investments in the Kazakh oil and gas sector amounted to $107 billion, Kazakh Minister of Oil and Gas Sauat Mynbayev said at the Astana Economic Forum on Wednesday.
"Over the last ten years, investments in oil and gas sector hit about $107 billion, of which 60 percent fall to the projects involving transnational corporations," he said.
He said such big projects as Karachaganak, Tengiz and Kashagan are implemented with the participation of major oil companies in the world.
The minister said that about 56 million of 80 million tons of oil, extracted in the country last year, fell to multinational companies.
"These companies paid taxes in the budget and allocations to the Oil Fund worth about 2 trillion tenge in 2010," he added.
