Azerbaijan's state oil company SOCAR will additionally produce over 6,900 tons of oil and 6.2 million cubic meters of gas a day thanks to the commissioning of a well at the offshore Oil Rocks field after the well has been overhauled.
Oil and gas are extracted at the well at a depth of 2,186 to 2,170 meters, read a SOCAR message issued March 29.
SOCAR is implementing a program to stabilize and increase oil output.
SOCAR extracted 647,000 tons of oil from the country's offshore and onshore fields in January 2016 as compared to 712,300 tons extracted in the same period of 2015.
