Imports of gasoline and diesel fuel into Georgia amounted to 676,800 tons in January-August 2019, which is 56,400 tons or 7.7 percent less than in the same period of 2018, Trend reports citing the Union of Petroleum Importers of Oil Products Georgia.
Over the same period last year, imports of gasoline and diesel fuel in Georgia amounted to 733,200 tons.
Gasoline imports amounted to 349,100 tons (a decrease of 13,500 tons compared to the previous year, i.e. by 3.7 percent), while diesel imports amounted to 327,700 tons (a decrease of 42,900 tons or 11.6 percent compared to the same period last year).
In January-August 2019, RON-91 gasoline was imported in the amount of 231,800 tons, or 66.4 percent. RON-95 gasoline was imported in the amount of 109,700 tons, or 31.4 percent. RON-98 gasoline was imported in the amount of 7,600 tons, or 2.2 percent.
For 8 months of 2019, the largest volume of gasoline imports was made from Russia – 197,400 tons, which is 29.2 percent of all imports.Romania is next with 190,500 tons (28.1 percent), Azerbaijan – 122,400 tons (18.1 percent), Turkmenistan – 69,600 tons (10.3 percent), Bulgaria – 60,300 tons (8.9 percent), Greece – 35,400 tons (5.2 percent) and others.
