BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 14. China National Heavy Machinery Corporation (CHMC) will build a small hydroelectric power plant in Kyrgyzstan, Trend reports referring to the Ministry of Energy of Kyrgyzstan.
Within the framework of memorandum, which was signed on January 14, construction of a small HPP on the Orto-Tokoy reservoir with a capacity of 21 MW is planned.
Kyrgyz Energy Minister Taalaibek Ibraev emphasized that the inked memorandum is one of the key milestones in supplying the population with electricity and is aimed at eliminating the energy deficit in Kyrgyzstan.
Furthermore, the strengthened relationships and strategic interactions between Chinese corporation and Kyrgyzstan under the signed agreement would support the growth of Kyrgyzstan's energy sector.
China National Heavy Machinery Corporation, founded in 1980, provides engineering contracting in metallurgy, transportation, building materials, power, hydraulics etc.
