TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, October 14. The economy of Tashkent district grew by 23 percent in the first half of 2024, Trend reports.
This was revealed during President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev's visit to the district.
The district's industry sector is expected to grow and reach 9 percent by the end of the year. At the same time, the growth rate of service sector will reach 13 percent due to the development of investments worth almost $53 million. The goal is to bring the volume of exports to $100 million.
Meanwhile, in the structure of Uzbekistan's foreign trade turnover, the Tashkent district's trade turnover amounted to $3.72 billion from January through August 2024. This indicator shows a 1.8 percent decrease year-on-year ($3.79 billion in January-August 2023).
