BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 19. Iran exported approximately 575,000 tons of non-oil goods worth $411 million from its northern Qazvin Province to Uzbekistan in the past Iranian year (from March 20, 2024, through March 20, 2025), Majid Barzegar, the deputy head of the province's Industry, Mining and Trade Department for trade affairs, told reporters, Trend reports.
Barzegar noted that Qazvin exported 55 types of industrial and agricultural products to Uzbekistan, including polyester yarns, granules, ceramics, detergents, various types of biscuits, household items, and more.
He emphasized that the province holds significant potential in industrial and agricultural exports, and due to its location along the East-West and North-South international transport corridors, it is well-positioned to considerably expand its export capacity.
To note, the data from the Iranian Customs Administration shows that Iran’s trade turnover with Uzbekistan reached approximately 617,000 tons worth around $500 million in the same period, reflecting an increase of 8.7 percent in value and 4.5 percent in volume compared to the previous year.
