BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 2. Oil and non-oil exports through the western ports of Iran’s southern Hormozgan Province increased by 54 percent in the first two months of the current Iranian year (from March 21 through May 21, 2025) compared to the same period last year (from March 20 through May 20, 2024), Morteza Salari, Director of the provincial authority, Trend reports.
Speaking to local media, Salari said a total of 1.18 million tons of oil and non-oil products were exported via the province’s western ports during the two months.
He stated that 548,000 tons of crude oil and oil products were exported, reflecting a 59 percent increase year-on-year. Additionally, 633,000 tons of non-oil products were exported, representing a 50 percent rise compared to the same period of the previous year.
Salari noted that the majority of shipments were carried out through Lengeh Port (484,000 tons), Siri Port (274,000 tons), Lavan Port (240,000 tons), Parsian Port (140,000 tons), and Chark Port (42,300 tons).
A total of ten ports are operating in the west of Iran's Hormozgan province. Among these ports, Lengeh, Charak, Siri, and Lavan ports are the most active.
