Libyan rebels clashed with troops loyal to leader Moamer Gaddafi early Tuesday around 80 kilometres west of Tripoli, the insurgents said, DPA reported.
The fighting was concentrated around the town of al-Ajaylat, the site of a recent pro-Gaddafi demonstration.
