Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend / The President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev visited the monument which commemorated the deceased employees of the shipyard in the centre of Gdansk on 27 February.
Ilham Aliyev and the President of Poland Lek Kachinski laid flowers on the monument which was erected in honour of the shipyard employees who were shot dead during protest demonstrations that swept Poland in the early 1980s. Due to the fact that Gdansk is a port city, the demonstrations during that time were mainly initiated by the employees of the shipyard.
