The Azerbaijani Accounting Chamber revealed incidents of falsified disability status, Chairman Heydar Asadov told journalists today.
Inspections revealed falsifications of disability status in the Yardimli, Masalli, Jalilabad and Lerik regions. Moreover, in some cases, falsified documents said individuals had been diagnosed with incurable diseases. The state suffered immense financial damage as a result. The chamber sent an appeal to the General Prosecutor's Office to take the appropriate measures.
Asadov said the Office for Combating Corruption under the General Prosecutor's Office said that a criminal case has been failed.
He added that the chamber has requested that the government eliminate contradictions among existing instructions and voids in the law to increase budget transparency.
