Azerbaijan, Baku /corr. Trend I.Alizade / The employees of the Ministry of National Security of Azerbaijan carried out a search at the home of Mushvig Huseynov, an employee of Bizim Yol newspaper, who was arrested on 24 July, said the Editor-in-Chief of the newspaper, Bahaddin Gaziyev.
Gaziyev said that two computers, disks, and several documents were taken during the search. In addition, the Editor-in-Chief said that the rights of the journalist will be protected by lawyer Vugar Khasiyev.
According to Gaziyev, the exact detention place of the journalist is not yet clear. It has not yet been confirmed that he is being detained in isolation by the Ministry of National Security.
"It is difficult to understand that an employee of my newspaper is accused of taking a bribe. If this accusation is testified, out attention towards it will be adequate," Gaziyev said.
The employee of Bizim Yol newspaper, Mushvig Huseynov, was arrested on 24 July. The Republic Prosecutor General's Office accuses Huseynov of taking a bribe from the Head of the Administration of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of Azerbaijan, Rizvan Aliyev, in the amount of $3,500. The Sabayl District Court has arrested Huseynov for a period of three months.
