ASTANA, Kazakhstan, March 10. Kazakhstan's Minister of Transport Marat Karabayev visited Ekibastuz city on a working trip and attended the opening of the overhaul of the railway station and the construction of a new railway engineering plant, Trend reports.
Meanwhile, following the instructions of the Minister, 50 railway stations in the country have been reconstructed and continue to be upgraded.
The following types of work were carried out during the overhaul: The building's facade was completely updated: the cladding material was replaced, the walls were insulated, and the entrance area was expanded; New window openings and stained glass were installed; All internal engineering networks were fully updated: heating, water supply, sewage, power supply, and fire alarm systems; Two passenger elevators were installed; The ventilation system was modernized; Ticket offices, waiting areas, food court, and children's zone were updated; Granite paving was completed; The platform surface was updated, the pavement near the station building was replaced, and a stormwater drainage system was installed, among other works. Currently, there are 8 pairs of passenger trains running, including 2 pairs of suburban trains.
Additionally, this year a new plant for the development of railway engineering will open in Ekibastuz.
Moreover, during his trip, Marat Karabaev also visited the RailCast Systems plant and reviewed the progress of the large industrial project’s construction.
The plant's production capacity will be 160,900 units per year. Upon commissioning, around 550 specialists will be employed there. Currently, equipment installation is underway, with the plant's launch scheduled for the second quarter of this year.
RailCast Systems is the only modern plant in the country for manufacturing blanks for railway axles, bands, and stamped parts.
