Kazakhstan’s gas production ups in January-April

Kazakhstan's total production of gas amounted to 13.709 billion cubic meters (bcm) in January-April, 2012, compared to 13.436 bcm during the same period of 2011, the Kazakh Statistics Agency dispatching management told Trend.

Gas production in Kazakhstan totaled 3.283 bcm in April, 2012 compared to 3.252 bcm during the same month of last year. In April, 2012 gas production in the country increased by 1 percent as compared to April, 2011 and decreased by 6.4 percent compared to the previous month.

The fulfillment of the indicative plan on the gas extraction amounted to 96 percent in APril, 2012.

Kazakhstan's domestic demand for gas amounted to 608 million cubic metres last month, which is 48.7 percent less than demand in the previous month and 13.9 percent less than in April, 2011.
