Tax income of Georgian state budget increases

Tax income of Georgia's 2019 state budget amounted to 9.6 billion lari ($3.3 billion), which is 6.8 million lari ($2.3 million) higher than planned, Trend reports via the country's Ministry of Finance.

As of December 22, Georgia's total budget stood at 11.3 billion lari ($3.9 billion) which is 61.9 million lari ($21.3 million) more than planned.

Tax income of the 2020 state budget is planned to be 10.4 billion lari ($3.6 billion) which is expected to account for 19.7 percent of Georgia's gross domestic product.

Georgian parliament has approved the state budget for 2020, with 83 votes in favor and one vote against.

In the latest version of the state budget for 2020, forecasted economic growth decreased from 5 percent to 4.5 percent, while the budget deficit is forecasted to be 2.4 percent of gross domestic product.

The budget allocations for 2020 are planned at 14.4 billion lari ($4.9 billion), up by 221 million lari ($75.9 million) year-on-year.
