BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, July 17. The total trade turnover between Kyrgyzstan and Germany reached $150.938 million from January through May 2023, accounting for 2.9 percent of Kyrgyzstan's overall trade, Trend reports
The figure increased 4.3 times compared to the same period in 2022 when the trade turnover stood at $34.493 million, the State Statistical Committee of Kyrgyzstan said.
Kyrgyzstan's exports to Germany declined by 1.4 times year-on-year, amounting to $3.718 million (0.4 percent of Kyrgyzstan's total exports).
On the other hand, imports to Kyrgyzstan from Germany increased by 4.9 times year-on-year. In the first five months of 2023, the country imported goods worth $147.219 million from Germany, accounting for 3.4 percent of Kyrgyzstan's import volume.
Meanwhile, Kyrgyzstan’s trade turnover amounted to almost $5.2 billion from January through May 2023, which is an increase of 27.9 percent compared to the same period in 2022. Exports rose by 21.9 percent year-on-year, while import increased by 29.2 percent.
