BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, July 5. A new electric cable manufacturing plant has been opened in the Chuy Region of Kyrgyzstan, Trend reports.

According to the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan, the state-owned Ayil Bank allocated $4.7 million for the project, with the total investment amounting to $6.5 million.

The plant has state-of-the-art facilities that can process 60 tons of aluminum, 30 tons of copper, and 100 tons of plastic every year. The products are designed to cater to both the domestic market and international markets within the Eurasian Economic Union.

Currently, the plant has circa 70 local residents on board, with plans to beef up the workforce down the line.

In his speech at the opening ceremony, Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Akylbek Japarov highlighted the significance of this project in reducing Kyrgyzstan's dependency on imported cable products. He noted the growing demand for cables in recent years and emphasized that the plant's products are more cost-effective compared to imported alternatives.
