TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, September 18. The National Bank of Uzbekistan (NBU) and the German AKA Bank signed an agreement on attracting a 100 million euros credit line to support Uzbekistan's business, the NBU told Trend.
The agreement will provide support and development of Uzbekistan's business with Germany, as it provides for joint support of small and medium-sized businesses in various sectors, which will contribute to the creation of new jobs and stimulate economic growth.
The credit line will also be used to finance projects in key sectors of the economy, such as textiles, services, tourism, mining and metallurgy, and alternative energy. In addition, this agreement will contribute to the implementation of the program on technological partnership and industrial cooperation for 2024-2026 adopted by the leaders of the two countries.
Meanwhile, German KfW IPEX Bank and AKA Bank will finance the construction of a new copper smelting complex in Uzbekistan.
Uzbekistan's Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Combine signed an agreement with German banks to provide 146 million euros as the first tranche to finance the construction of a new copper smelting complex in Uzbekistan.
