BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 15. The transit of products through Bander-Dayyer Port in southern Iran's Bushehr Province has increased by 420 percent during the first 4 months of the current Iranian year (from March 20 through July 21, 2024) compared to the same period of last year (from March 21 through July 22, 2023), the director of Bander-Dayyer Port and the Iranian Ports and Maritime Administration Rahila Pourmuhammadi told reporters, Trend reports.
According to her, a whopping 15,300 tons of products have been transported through Bander-Dayyer Port in a mere 4 months.
Pourmuhammadi noted that about 123,000 tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded at Bander-Dayyer Port in 4 months. This indicates an increase of 5 percent compared to the same period last year.
She added that imports of products through Bander Dayyer Port amounted to 3,940 tons in 4 months. This is a 78 percent increase compared to the same period last year.
The port representative spilled the beans that a whopping 87,800 tons of products were shipped out through this port in just 4 months. The export of products shot up by 8 percent compared to the same period last year.
To note, the current throughput capacity of Iranian ports is more than 285 million tons. Iran is taking steps to increase the throughput capacity of ports to 500 million tons.
