BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 24. Non-oil exports from Iran’s northern Gilan Province saw a notable increase of 1 percent in value and 9 percent in weight over the past Iranian year (from March 20, 2024, through March 20, 2025) compared to the previous year (from March 21, 2023, through March 19, 2024), the head of the Gilan Province Industry, Mine, and Trade Organization, Teymour Pourheydari, told reporters, Trend reports.
Speaking to local media, Pourheidari stated the province exported 1.37 million tons of goods worth $768 million during the reporting period.
He noted that of this total, $378 million came from agricultural products, $237 million from industrial goods, $93 million from mining minerals, and $60 million from petrochemical exports.
The customs official said that the largest share of exports belonged to food products, which amounted to $437 million.
Meanwhile, imports into the province declined. Gilan imported 2.23 million tons of goods valued at $1.49 billion—reflecting a 25 percent decrease in value and a 13 percent drop in weight compared to the previous year.
“The main categories of imports included $839 million in industrial products, $568 million in agricultural goods, $72 million in minerals, and $6 million in petrochemical products,” he said.
Iran's Customs Administration also reported that, in total, Iran exported non-oil products worth $57.8 billion, reaching nearly 152 million tons, marking a 15.6 percent increase in value and a 10 percent rise in weight compared to the previous year.
