Iran calculates investments attracted to agriculture

BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 26. Iran's agricultural sector attracted investments worth 30 trillion rials (about $714 million) in the last Iranian year (from March 21, 2023, through March 19, 2024), director of Iran's Agricultural Mechanization Development Center Karim Zolfaghari said, Trend reports.

According to Zolfoghari, about 25.5 trillion rials (around $607 million) of the mentioned investments have been spent in various fields.

Zolfoghari added that investments worth 22 trillion rials (about 524 million dollars) have been purchased for about 8,600 agricultural machines.

He stated that 710 gardening machines worth 1.85 trillion rials (about $44 million) and 56 livestock and poultry machines worth 1.31 trillion rials (about $32 million) have been purchased.

The head of the center said machines for fisheries were purchased for 7.2 billion rials (about $171,000) and machines for medicinal plants for 6 billion rials (about $143,000).

To note, Iran produces 130 million tons of agricultural products annually.
