The meeting of the Georgian and Russian Patriarchs has been postponed indefinitely. Expert for Caucasus, Mamuka Areshidze said the reasons for rescheduling the meeting are unknown.
He believes that the Georgian side was not interested in rescheduling the meeting between Patriarch Ilia II and Patriarch Cyril and so, the initiative has likely made by Moscow.
According to experts, it is planned to hold two meetings - in Vladikavkaz of Russia and Kazbegi of Georgia in the coming days.
