A lawyer accused of swindle has been sentenced to eight years imprisonment.
Serious Crimes Court held hearing on the criminal case of Fadail Ganjaliyev, accused of misappropriating a large amount of money from citizens in Baku.
The Court sentenced Ganjaliyev to eight years imprisonment.
The accused is charged with Article 178.3.2 (swindle causing damage in large amount) of the Azerbaijani Criminal Code.
It was revealed that Baku resident Fadail Ganjaliyev was engaged in lawyer activity in Baku and abusing it, under the pretext of buying and selling of property misappropriated a large amount of citizens' money.
The lawyer was arrested as a result of search operations held by employees of the Nizami District Police Department 25 on the basis of victims' complaints June 24, 2009.
