Iran's production of mineral materials during the last Iranian year (started March 21 , 2018) has increased to 500 million tons valued at $20 billion, said the Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade Reza Rahmani.
"The statistics have shown that the value of production in mine and mineral industries sector has passed $20 billion and the volume of mineral materials production reached 500 million tons in last year," said Rahmani, Trend reported citing IRNA.
"The volume of mineral production during the second term of Hassan Rouhani's government (2017-present) has increased by 140 million tons more than previous years," he added.
"Domestic production is one the important issues for the government," he added.
"The mine sector would be improved by cooperation of universities, research centers and knowledge-based companies, and in fact, the private sector should be active in this field," he said.
