Turkmen tanker passes operations

The oil tanker "river-sea" Ceyhun, built for the Turkmen State Service of Maritime and River Transport returned from the operations a statement said.

The tanker was launched August 31. Red Sormovo won the tender in April this year. The contract was signed in May.

The operations were held in the Gorky Sea. The tests were successful.

All special requirements and environmental limitations of the world oil companies were taken into account while designing the ships. Additional requirements were applied to prevent contamination in case of emergency. A class of the tanker is KM * Icel [1] R2 AUT1-ICS OMBO LI VCS Oil Tanker (ESP) of the Russian Maritime Register of Shipping.

Technical specifications include length - 141.4 meters, width - 16.84 m, hull height - 6.82 m, deadweight in the sea - about 7,100 tons at a draft of 4.60 meters, in the river - 4,700 tons of sediment at 3.60 m with a capacity of twelve cargo tanks and two slop tanks - 8,256 cubic meters, main engine power - 2h1200 kW, speed of operation - 10.5 knots. The two medium-speed diesel engine rated at 1200 kW, operating on heavy fuel oil viscosity IFO380, are used as the main engines.

Two tankers have been already built for the Turkmen State Service of Maritime and River Transport at "Red Sormovo".

The first tanker Sumbar was delivered to the customer in August 2009, the second vessel Hazar - in October 2009.

A group of companies 'Marine and Oil and Gas Projects' is the company managing the projects in the field of shipbuilding. The Group includes: the plant Red Sormovo (Nizhny Novgorod), Sormovskoe Engineering (Nizhny Novgorod) and the Volga-Caspian Design Bureau (Nizhniy Novgorod).
