Electronic security center of the Ministry of Communications and High Technologies of Azerbaijan will use technologies of ESET Company to investigate incidents in the field of information security, the head of department on cooperation with ESET partners in the CIS countries Alexander Zhmur told Trend Sept.8.
He said that the company has the necessary experience in this field and solutions are currently used for the protection of state information systems.
The head of department on cooperation with ESET partners in the CIS countries outlined basic directions of development of its activities in Azerbaijan over the next two years. The matter rests in expanding of cooperation with the bank and the education sector, Zhmur said. At present, ESET projects for these industries are under implementation.
A basic package of anti-virus protection on preferential terms is provided for educational institutions.
"We have the basic preferential conditions for the use of anti-virus solutions in the secondary educational institutions, universities and institutes and provide them with additional discounts on ESET services," Zhmur said. "We have experience of working with the Ministry of Education of Uzbekistan, and together with it we connect a number of universities to the services of ESET. We will try to apply this experience in Azerbaijan," he added.
Information security market of Azerbaijan is one of the most developed ones in the CIS countries, and this fact is demonstrated by the figures on sales, in both the corporate sector and the retail one, according to Zhmur.
"The growth of the market for the last year amounted to nearly 30 percent, and this trend can be seen this year," he said.
Corporate business segment is very developed in the country and sales of business solutions are increasing. Regarding domestic products, here we can also see potential for further growth.
The main and direct competitor of ESET in Azerbaijan is Kaspersky Lab, due to its early access to this market, Zhmur says. The future strategy of the company ESET in Azerbaijan for the next two years will comprise the building of close cooperation with partners in both the retail and the corporate sector.
