ASTANA, Kazakhstan, August 3. About 25,930 remittances through international money transfer systems (IMTS) were made from Russia to Kazakhstan in June 2024, Trend reports.
According to the data from the National Bank of Kazakhstan, the volume of transfers amounted to 5.3 billion tenge (about $11.2 million).
At the same time, 19.6 billion tenge, or approximately $41.4 million, were transferred from Kazakhstan to Russia through 98,290 transactions via IMTS.
As a result, Russia takes the cake when it comes to the volume of money transfers to and plays second fiddle when it comes to the volume of money transfers from Kazakhstan in June 2024.
Meanwhile, the total number of money transfers through international money transfer systems (IMTS) in Kazakhstan amounted to 206,500 transactions worth 75.3 billion tenge (about $158 million) in June 2024. Compared to May 2024, there is a decrease in the number of transfers by 6.2 percent and in the volume of transactions by 0.6 percent.
