ASTANA, Kazakhstan, August 7. Kazakhstan is projected to produce some 2.02 mb/d of oil in 2025, the US Energy Information Administration Agency (EIA) forecasts, Trend reports.
The agency left the country's oil production forecast for 2025 unchanged from last month's estimate.
The production forecast for the end of 2024 also remained unchanged compared to the previous forecast and amounted to 1.92 mb/d.
Looking ahead, the agency anticipates Kazakhstan's oil production to reach 2.01 mb/d and 2.02 mb/d in the first and second quarters of 2025, respectively. This will be followed by a slight drop to 1.97 mb/d in the third quarter and a further increase to 2.07 mb/d in the fourth quarter of the same year.
Meanwhile, the EIA has set the country's production level for 2023 at 1.96 mb/d.
Furthermore, Kazakhstan produced 90 million tons of oil in 2023, which is 6.9 percent higher than in 2022. Oil exports also increased and amounted to 70.5 million tons, which is 9.6 percent more than the previous year. Moreover, Kazakhstan plans to increase oil production in 2024 to 90.3 million tons.
In 2023, gas production in Kazakhstan amounted to 59.063 billion cubic meters, including large fields such as Tengiz (16.009 billion cubic meters), Karachaganak (22.385 billion cubic meters), Kashagan (11.856 billion cubic meters), and others (8.813 billion cubic meters). Kazakhstan is projected to produce 60.456 billion cubic meters of raw natural gas in 2024.
