Kyrgyzstan's import of oil products from Belarus picks up

BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, February 3. Kyrgyzstan imported a total of 4,361 tons of oil products from Belarus from January through November 2023, which is an increase of 2.8 times compared to the same period in 2022 (1,556 tons), Trend reports.

Data from Kyrgyzstan’s State Statistical Committee shows that the value of the imports amounted to $4.456 million, increasing by 1.5 times compared to $2.922 million in January-November 2022.

Throughout the eleven-month period, Belarus stood as the fourth among the countries from which Kyrgyzstan imported oil products. The top positions were held by Russia – 460,165 tons, followed by Kazakhstan - 76,587 tons, and Uzbekistan - 8,823 tons.

In total, Kyrgyzstan imported 561,179 tons of oil products from January through November 2023, which is 14 percent less than in the same period of 2022 (646,296 tons). The value reached $419.095 million, decreasing by 16.4 percent compared to the 11 months of 2022 ($501.156 million).

The trade turnover between Kyrgyzstan and Belarus totaled $87.515 million during the period from January through November 2023, a decrease of 12.4 percent compared to the same period in 2022 ($99.897 million).

Kyrgyz exports to Belarus stood at $21.177 million during these months, which is a 3-percent decline from January through November 2022 ($21.782 million).

Kyrgyzstan's imports from Belarus totaled $66.338 million, decreasing by 15 percent compared to the corresponding months in 2022 ($78.114 million).
