TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, July 22. Uzbekistan produced 2.6 million tons of coal from January through June 2024, Trend reports.
According to the data from the Statistics Agency of Uzbekistan, coal production has increased by 8.3 percent year-on-year (2.4 million tons in January–June 2023).
At the same time, the country's coal production reached 700,000 tons in June 2024, compared to 600,000 tons in May 2024.
Meanwhile, Uzbekistan will give fuel, oil, and coal a free pass on customs duties for a whopping two years, and the country also offers three-year revolving credits for coal imports.
Furthermore, with an additional 900,000 tons coming from businesses, the nation aims to generate 8 million tons of coal this year, and by 2025, it hopes to have increased coal production to 10 million tons.
