TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, November 29. The number of Chinese citizens visiting Uzbekistan totaled 57,700 from January through October 2024.
The data obtained by Trend from the country's Statistics Agency shows that this figure has increased by 63.1 percent (22,300 people) compared to the same period in 2023.
The main purposes of Chinese citizens' visits to Uzbekistan are traveling (50,052 people), business trips (4,732 people), visits to relatives (1,121 people), commercial purposes (1,085 people), study (708 people), and medical treatment (2 people).
To note, the number of foreign tourists who visited Uzbekistan from January through October 2024 totaled 6.5 million people. This figure increased by 17.2 percent (951,300 people) compared to the same period last year.
Among all countries, Tajikistan accounted for the largest number of tourists who came to Uzbekistan during this period—1.878 million people.
