BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 29. The export of non-oil products through the customs of West Azerbaijan Province, located in the northwest of Iran, increased by 62 percent in value and 26 percent in weight during the ten months of the current Iranian year (from March 20, 2024 through January 19, 2025) compared to the same period last year (from March 21, 2023 through January 20, 2024), the controller of Iran's West Azerbaijan Province customs office Khaled Jangjoo told reporters, Trend reports.
According to him, 4.9 million tons of non-oil products worth $4.1 billion were exported via West Azerbaijan Province Customs during ten months.
Jangjoo added that 2.7 million tons of exports of non-oil products worth $1.6 billion were exported directly through the West Azerbaijan Province customs. Meanwhile, 2.2 million tons worth $2.5 billion were exported through other customs of the country and merely moved out of West Azerbaijan Province customs.
The official noted that for ten months, 2 million tons of products worth $5 billion arrived in the country for transit through the West Azerbaijan customs, and 1.14 million tons of products worth $10 billion were exported.
To note, Iran's exports of non-oil products amounted to $47.8 billion during ten months of the current Iranian year. This is 18 percent more than the same period of last year.
