BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 3. The export of non-oil products through the customs of West Azerbaijan Province, located in the northwest of Iran, amounted to 669,000 tons worth $343 million in the two months of the current Iranian year (from March 21 through May 21, 2025), the controller of West Azerbaijan Province customs office Khaled Jangjoo told reporters, Trend reports.
According to him, mainly steel ingots, carbines, rubber products, and copper ingots were exported through the provincial customs.
Jangjoo mentioned that the products were exported to 53 countries, including Iraq, Türkiye, and the UAE, through the provincial customs.
The customs official explained that 51,000 tons of products worth $161 million were imported through the provincial customs in the two months. The imported products were mainly trucks, buses, tea, bananas, and truck spare parts.
He added that the products were imported from 30 countries, including Türkiye, Germany, China, India, and the UAE.
The Iranian Customs Administration data shows that during the first two months of the current Iranian year, Iran's non-oil exports amounted to 24.6 million tons, worth $8.24 billion. Iran's non-oil exports decreased by 0.11 percent in value and increased by 4.4 percent in weight compared to the same period last year (from March 20 through May 20, 2024).
Meanwhile, in the two months, Iran's non-oil imports amounted to 5.92 million tons, worth $8.47 billion. Non-oil imports decreased by 7.8 percent in value and increased by 1.16 percent in weight compared to the same period last year (from March 20 through May 20, 2024).
