Azerbaijan attaches special importance to int'l cooperation in combating cybercrime

Azerbaijan attaches immense importance to the cooperation with international organizations in combating cybercrime, Communications and IT Ministry official Bakhtiyar Mammadov told Trend on Friday.

"The convention on "Cybercrime" is an important opportunity to build an international protection mechanism to protect," he said. "Azerbaijan joined this convention."

A supporting mechanism is being created for the six participating countries, including Azerbaijan under the EU financial support within the "Eastern Partnership" program. Various events are being organized.

"Taking into account that the fight against cyber crime is a new direction, this process should be coordinated," he said. "Azerbaijan uses all the international mechanisms, learning experience and proposals of the countries to ensure effective cooperation."

He commented on creating a single center for CIS member states for security in cyberspace.
