Peace and cooperation in region are possible only after Armenia leaves Azerbaijani occupied territories: MP Ganira Pashayeva

Azerbaijani MP Ganira Pashayeva participated in several programs of Turkish TV channels within her visit to Turkey.

She participated in Ugur Gunder's program Star Xeber at Star TV channel, Mehmet Ali Berant's program at Kanal D TV channel within her visit to Turkey.

Azerbaijani MP Ganira Pashayeva gave interview to CNN Turk, Haber Turk, Ihlas Xeber and Xeber.net. informational agencies concerning signing the protocols to normalize Turkey-Armenia relations and submission of these documents for discussion of the Turkish Parliament on October 21.

Azerbaijani MP expressed hope that the Turkish Parliament will not ratify Ankara-Yerevan protocols if Armenia does not release Azerbaijani occupied territories.

About 20 percent of Azerbaijani territory was occupied by Armenia more than 15 years, 1 million of Azerbaijani refugees and internally displaced people can not return to their lands and homes within many years, MP said.

She said that there are about 2.5 million refugees in entire CE sphere, 1 million are Azerbaijanis.

Turkey closed the border with Armenia after Kalbajar region of Azerbaijan was occupied, Pashayeva said.

"Azerbaijani people think that this policy will also continue in future. Turkey must not establish ties and open the border with Armenia till Armenia releases Azerbaijani occupied territories," MP said.

Pashayeva reminded about Turkish officials' statements that the border between Turkey and Armenia will not be opened and ties between two countries will not be established till Armenia releases Azerbaijani occupied territories.

"We hope that the Turkish Parliament will call Armenia for releasing Azerbaijani occupied lands and state that otherwise Yerevan should forget about ratification of protocols," MP said.

Pashayeva said that issuelessness of the meetings held between Azerbaijani and Armenian Presidents within many years was connected with Yerevan's refusal from releasing Azerbaijani occupied territories.

"Unfortunately, co-chairmen of OSCE Minsk Group do not demonstrate necessary activity to oblige Armenia to release Azerbaijani occupied territories. They also do not put pressure upon Yerevan," she said.

Several forces abroad willing to reconcile Turkey and Armenia said that establishment of diplomatic relations between them and opening of the border will positively affect the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. But it is mistaken opinion, Pashayeva said.

If diplomatic relations are established and the border between these countries is opened before Azerbaijani lands are released, Armenian President will hold tougher position in release of Azerbaijani territories. MP reminded Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev's statements that the situation we faced during the talks gives enough grounds to speak about it.

Relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan were broken due to occupation of Azerbaijan lands by Armenia.

Armenian-Turkish diplomatic ties have been severed due to Armenia's claims of an alleged genocide, and its occupation of Azerbaijani lands. Armenian economic-social state fell into decay because of bad relations with neighbors.

"Armenia must take decisive actions to change the situation. We hope that during discussions of protocols in the Turkish Parliament, MPs will unambiguously state Armenia and the world that ratification of these documents is possible only after Azerbaijani occupied territories are released," Pashayeva said.

Pashayeva said that three countries, including the USA, Russia and France participated in the signing ceremony of Turkey-Armenia protocols do their best to achieve rapprochement of these countries.

"First, they must put pressure upon Yerevan for Armenia to release Azerbaijani territories. Peace and cooperation in the region are possible after Armenia leaves Azerbaijani occupied territories," MP said.

MP pointing to over-scrupulousness of this topic for Azerbaijan said that Azerbaijani people hope that the Turkish Parliament will not ratify the protocols till Armenia releases occupied territories, Pashayeva said.

Pashayeva was asked what she can tell concerning Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan's visiting a football match in Turkey.

"We would like everybody to know that above-mentioned person participated in occupation of Azerbaijani lands and was one of its organizers," Pashayeva said.

He is guilty of murder of thousands innocent Azerbaijanis killed during occupation of Azerbaijani territories by Armenian armed forces, as well as subjected to genocide of civilians in Khojali.

Murder of thousands innocent Azerbaijanis will be on his conscience for ever. My relatives, schoolmates and friends were among these people.

About 1 million of Azerbaijanis can not return their lands and homes due to aggressive policy of Armenia headed by him.

What do you feel if you are not able to visit graves of your relatives, children, parents and return home during 15 years?

I think that I have mentioned enough facts for you to think over personality of Sargsyan and his country thoroughly and feel pain and feelings of Azerbaijani people.

Azerbaijani MP Ganira Pashayeva participated in TV debates of Ali Kirjan's Ana Xabar program at SHOW TV Turkish channel, in one of the most rating programs Can Dundarla Canli Qazete at NTV TV channel and Haber Turk TV channel.

It should be noted that a group pf Azerbaijani MPs arrived in Turkey on October 13. The visit will last till the end of this week.

A group of MPs includes MPs Samad Seyidov, Nizami Jafarov, Ali Huseynov, Ganira Pashayeva, Mubariz Gurbanli, Gudrat Hasanguliyev, Akram Abdullayev, Gultekin Hajibayli, Asef Hajiyev, Rovshan Rzayev and Fazail Agamali.
