Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend corr. S.Ilhamgizi / Ilgar Gasimov, Chairman of the 'Way of Azerbaijan' political movement, and Shalva Natalashvili, Chairman of the Georgian Labour-workers Party, will visit the Kvemo-Kartli region in Borchali.
The goal of the visit is to become familiar with the living conditions of Azerbaijanis residing in Georgia. The agreement for the joint visit to the region was achieved in Georgia on 12 July.
Gasimov proposed the Natalashvili regions to visit which are thickly populated with Azerbaijanis. Natalashvili positively appreciated Gasimov's initiative to pay a visit in August 2007.
During the meeting, the heads of the organizations discussed the solidarity meeting, which will be organized by the Coordinating Council of opposition movements and parties of GUAM ( Georgia, Ukraine, Azerbaijan and Moldova) member-countries. Other opposition parties of Georgia will also attend the meeting.
The solidarity movement regarding the conflict on GUAM member-countries will be held in Georgia, Ukraine, Azerbaijan and Moldova.
During the press conference held in Tbilisi, Gasimov expressed his dissatisfaction of the violation of rights of Azerbaijanis residing in Georgia. The chairman especially focused attention on the closing of schools which taught in the Azerbaijani language and the change by Georgia of Azerbaijani directors as well as the change of Azerbaijani village names.
