Azerbaijan intends to expand cooperation with Belarus in the cultural sector, BelTA learnt from Deputy Culture and Tourism Minister of Azerbaijan Sevda Mamedaliyeva.
These issues will be discussed in a meeting with Sevda Mamedaliyeva and First Deputy Culture Minister of Belarus Vladimir Karachevsky on 22 November. According to Sevda Mamedaliyeva, Azerbaijan is interested in shooting joint films as well as to develop cooperation in theater and music art.
"Our countries should not be simply satisfied with what we achieve. We should move further. A musical comedy Arshin Mal Alan by Azerbaijani composer Uzeyir Hajibeyov staged by the Belarusian State Academic Music Theater jointly with Director of the Azerbaijani State Opera and Ballet Theater Honored Art Figure of Azerbaijan Hafiz Quliyev was a real success. We should take this experience into account as such cultural contacts between the nations are mutually enriching," Sevda Mamedaliyeva said.
In her words, Belarus takes an active part in the cultural life of Azerbaijan. Baku is to host the 4th International Festival n.a. Mstislav Rostropovich in early December. Belarus is supposed to take part in it. Belarus and Azerbaijan are implementing one more cultural project together with Lithuania. The major goal of the project is to familiarize children with Down's syndrome with arts. The project has been proposed to the European Union.
