BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 19. The volume of agricultural production in Azerbaijan in actual prices amounted to 12.2 billion manat ($7.18 billion) during 2023, which is 3.1 percent higher year-on-year, Trend reports via the State Statistics Committee of Azerbaijan.
The committee's data showed that over the specified period, the production of livestock products in value terms grew by 3.2 percent (to 6.27 billion manat, or $3.69 billion), and in the field of crop production – by 2.7 percent (to 5.9 billion manat, or $3.47 billion).
Meanwhile, 3.24 million tons of grain and legumes were harvested in Azerbaijan from an area of 948,100 hectares (99.9 percent of the total sown area). The average yield was 33 quintals per hectare.
A total of one million tons of potatoes were harvested (a decrease of 5.94 percent over the year), 1.8 million tons of vegetables (an increase of 0.13 percent), 469,300 tons of melons (a decrease of 6.63 percent), 1.26 million tons of fruits and berries (an increase of 0.65 percent), 224,500 tons of grapes (an increase of 5.6 percent), 1.1 million tons of green tea (an increase of 12.28 percent) as of December 2024.

Azerbaijan produced 647,700 tons of meat, 2.28 million tons of milk and 2.18 billion chicken eggs in 2023. Meat production increased by 3.1 percent, milk – by 0.8 percent, and chicken eggs – by 8.4 percent compared to the same period in 2022.

In addition, the volume of agricultural production in Azerbaijan in actual prices amounted to 10.9 billion manat ($6.4 billion) in 2022, which is 3.4 percent higher than in 2021, the production of livestock products in value terms increased by 3.4 percent (to 5.4 billion manat, or $3.22 billion), and in the field of crop production – by 3.3 percent (to 5.5 billion manat, or $3.23).
The volume of agricultural production in Azerbaijan in actual prices amounted to 9.2 billion manat ($5.4 billion) in 2021, which is 3.4 percent higher than in 2020.
During the specified period, production in the livestock sector increased by 2.8 percent (to 4.7 billion manat, or $6.7 billion), and in the field of crop production – by four percent (to 4.5 billion manat, or $2.6 billion).
