ASTANA, Kazakhstan, March 18. Experts in
Kazakhstan's transport sector discussed the transport strategy of
the Central Asia Regional Economic Cooperation (CAREC) until 2030,

The mid-term review of the CAREC Transport Strategy until 2030 was
organized by the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of
Kazakhstan in collaboration with the Asian Development Bank.
Representatives of KAZLOGISTICS were also involved.
"Experts discussed various approaches to the development of railway
networks, focusing on the integration of innovative technologies
and emerging priorities such as decarbonization, digitalization,
and 'smart' mobility. They also explored opportunities to support
ADB transport operations through 2030, which could drive
transformative change in Kazakhstan's transport sector and
contribute to sustainable development in the Asia-Pacific region.
Furthermore, the discussions touched on the importance of knowledge
exchange and cooperation," stated Kazakhstan Railways.
Moreover, meeting participants noted that joint efforts would
significantly accelerate the development of transport
infrastructure and strengthen regional integration, which would be
a key contribution to the sustainable development of Central
Asia.
The CAREC Transport Strategy until 2030 was approved in 2018. It
outlines investment directions in transport infrastructure and
services to improve regional connectivity and economic integration
between Central Asian countries and neighboring states. The program
involves 11 countries: Azerbaijan, Afghanistan, Georgia,
Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, Pakistan, China, Tajikistan,
Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan.
