ASTANA, Kazakhstan, April 1. The EPC contract
was signed for the construction of the water pipeline from K.I.
Satpaev Canal to Astana, including the construction of Pumping and
Filtration Station No. 4 between Kazakhstan and China, Trend reports.
A solemn ceremony took place in Kazakhstan’s Astana and was
attended by Roman Sklyar, First Deputy Prime Minister of the
Republic of Kazakhstan, and Han Chunlin, Ambassador Extraordinary
and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to the
Republic of Kazakhstan.
“The water pipeline from the K.I. Satpaev Canal to the city of
Astana, along with the construction of Pumping and Filtration
Station No. 4, is a strategic project aimed at ensuring stable and
high-quality water supply for Astana. The length of the pipeline is
203.06 km (two branches). The implementation of the project will
allow for the modernization of the city's communal infrastructure,
increase resilience to growing demand, and create conditions for
further socio-economic development,” stated the press service of
the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan.
The preparation of the EPC contract was carried out in close
cooperation between the Kazakh and Chinese sides, with an emphasis
on compliance with international design standards, environmental
safety, and construction efficiency. Construction work on the
project is set to begin in April 2025.
China Energy International Group and its subsidiary, China Gezhouba
Group Company Ltd, will support the construction of the water
pipeline, and have many years of experience in implementing
engineering and infrastructure projects in various regions of the
world.
