BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 8. More than 320,000 payment orders were executed by treasury authorities in Azerbaijan, and the state budget revenues were executed with a surplus in the first quarter of 2025.
The data obtained by Trend from the Ministry of Finance shows that the reporting period's budget revenues totaled 9.7 billion manat ($5.7 billion), exceeding the monthly forecast by 171.4 million manat ($100.8 million), or 1.8 percent.
The revenue sources included 4.38 billion manat ($2.6 billion) from the State Tax Service under the Ministry of Economy, 1.4 billion manat ($820 million) from the State Customs Committee, 10.4 million manat ($6 million) from the State Property Service under the Ministry of Economy, 136.7 million manat ($80.4 million) from paid services of state-funded organizations, and other revenues stood at 154.9 million manat ($91 million).
Meanwhile, transfers from the State Oil Fund amounted to 3.6 billion manat ($2.1 billion).
For the first quarter of 2025, the state budget expenditures were 8.28 billion manat ($4.88 billion) according to the forecast, while actual expenditures - 8.1 billion manat ($4.77 billion), or 98 percent of the planned amount. Despite the excess execution of the budget from January through February of this year, expenditures in March decreased by two percent compared to the forecast, resulting in a shortfall of 165 million manat ($97.5 million).
