The Turkmen-Austrian business forum is planned to be held In Vienna by the end of the year, the Turkmen government said in a statement Aug. 20.
The main purpose of the event is to enhance trade and investment partnership between the business circles of Turkmenistan and Europe, to explore new opportunities for the export of domestic products.
During the business forum, representatives of leading companies from the European Union will be acquainted with major investment projects of Turkmenistan.
On the eve of the meeting, a package of proposals aimed at enhancing trade contacts and investment partnership is being prepared.
Taking into account the large-scale projects implemented by Turkmen entrepreneurs, the ideas related to cooperation in the creation of joint innovative manufacturing enterprises in the free economic zones of Turkmenistan, in the construction of plants for the production of mineral fertilizers, as well as petrochemical and gas chemical products will be brought up for discussion by the participants of the business forum, the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan (UIET) said in a statement earlier.
Among the promising areas of cooperation there are the extraction of mineral resources and the establishment of high-tech manufacturing enterprises, the mining and quarrying and paper making industries, logistics sector, textile and leather production.
The attraction of European technologies in the chemical industry, the production of non-metallic mineral products (glass, ceramics, etc.) is seen as currently important.
Austria's experience serves as a basis for mutually beneficial contacts in the agricultural sector and meat processing.
Taking into account the ever increasing export opportunities of the UIET members, it is planned to discuss the issues of promotion of Turkmen products, in particular fruits and vegetables, in the markets of Europe, to establish direct contacts with Austrian wholesale companies.
