The prices of food items in Kazakhstan increased by 8.3 percent in Oct. 2020 compared to Dec. 2019 and by 0.6 percent compared to Sept. 2020, Trend reports citing Kazakhstan’s Statistics Committee.
The prices of non-food items increased by 4.5 percent compared to Dec. 2019 and by 0.6 percent compared to Sept. 2020. The price of paid services also increased by 3 percent compared to Dec. 2019 and by 0.4 percent compared to Sept. 2020.
Thus, prices for eggs increased by 10.3 percent in Oct. compared to Sept., granulated sugar by 7.3 percent, sunflower oil by 6.3 percent, fresh vegetables by 2.8 percent, potatoes by 2.1 percent, milk by 1.4 percent, tea by 1 percent, mutton by 0.9 percent, flour, butter by 0.8 percent each, pasta, horse meat by 0.7 percent each, bread by 0.6 percent.
Tobacco products went up in price by 1.8 percent, soft drinks by 0.6 percent. A decrease in prices was recorded for fresh fruit by 3.9 percent.
The increase in prices for office supplies, medicines was 0.8 percent each, detergents and cleaning products, cars by 0.7 percent each, textiles, clothing and footwear, furniture and household items by 0.6 percent each. Prices of coal increased by 1.4 percent.
Air passenger transport prices dropped by 2.4 percent during the reporting period.
