ASTANA, Kazakhstan, August 16. Kazakhstan's exports to Russia from January through June 2023 increased by more than $1.3 billion year-on-year - to $4.93 billion, Trend reports.
According to the data obtained from the Bureau of National Statistics of the Agency for Strategic Planning and Reforms of Kazakhstan, over the first half of 2022, exports of goods from Kazakhstan to the Russian Federation amounted to $3.57 billion.
At the same time, Kazakhstan's imports from Russia decreased from $8.68 billion in the first half of 2022 to $7.78 billion from January through June 2023.
Kazakhstan's total trade turnover with the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) in the reporting period of 2023 reached $13.8 billion, which is an increase of 4.1 percent year-on-year. Exports of goods for the first half of 2023 amounted to $5.4 billion (up by 36.8 percent y-o-y), while imports decreased to $8.4 billion (down by 9.9 percent).
Russia ranks first among the EAEU countries in terms of foreign trade with Kazakhstan in the reporting period of 2023, with the largest share of 91.9 percent, followed by Kyrgyzstan (4.6 percent), and Belarus (3.3 percent).
