BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 1. Exports of non-oil products through Isfahan Province’s customs have decreased by 14 percent in value and 20 percent in weight during the 11 months of the current Iranian year (from March 20, 2024, through February 18, 2025) compared to the same period last year (from March 21, 2023, through February 19, 2024), Rasool Kuhestani, the head of Isfahan province's customs department, told reporters, Trend reports.

Kuhestani noted that during the 11 months, a total of $1.13 billion worth of 1.69 million tons of non-oil products were exported through Isfahan's customs.

He explained that the primary reason for the decline in exports was the 60 percent decrease in the export of iron, steel, and copper products.

The official added that during this period, 683 types of products were exported, including petrochemical products worth approximately $320 million, iron, steel, and copper products worth around $226 million, dairy products valued at $138 million, carpets worth $95 million, and copper products valued at $85 million.

The main export destinations for Isfahan’s non-oil products included Pakistan, with $315 million in exports, followed by Iraq with $238 million, Afghanistan with $140 million, the UAE with $108 million, and Türkiye with $87 million.

"Isfahan province’s customs imported goods worth $745 million during the same period, totaling 165,000 tons, marking an 8 percent increase in both value and weight compared to last year’s figures," Kuhestani added.

In general, Iran prioritizes the import of essential products for the country and imposes certain limitations on the import of goods that are domestically produced.
