BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 7. Iran's non-oil exports decreased by eight percent in value and 8.3 percent in weight during the first month of the current Iranian year (from March 21 through April 20, 2025) compared to the same month of last year (from March 20 through April 19, 2024).
The data obtained by Trend from the сountry's Customs Administration shows that Iran exported 8.95 million tons of non-oil products worth $2.94 billion in the first month of this year.
Over this period, Iran exported liquid propane worth $189 million, bitumen worth $182 million, liquid butane worth $154 million, iron and steel ingots worth $120 million, and methanol worth $110 million.
In the reporting month, Iran exported products worth $997 million to China, $401 million to Iraq, $395 million to the UAE, $189 million to Türkiye, $143 million to Afghanistan, $140 million to Oman, and $124 million to Pakistan. Meanwhile, 81 percent of Iran's non-oil exports in terms of value and 80 percent in terms of weight accounted for the mentioned countries.
Meanwhile, in the first month, Iran's non-oil trade turnover amounted to 10.7 million tons worth approximately $5.8 billion. Non-oil trade turnover decreased by three percent in terms of value and 12 percent in terms of weight compared to the same month last year.
Iran has been making efforts to increase its non-oil trade turnover in recent years.
