BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 26. Azerbaijan finds Hungary's active participation in multilateral cooperation on the Middle Corridor important, according to a protocol signed at the 10th meeting of the Intergovernmental Azerbaijani-Hungarian Commission in Baku, Trend reports.

“It is important to involve Hungary in multilateral processes aimed at eliminating existing bottlenecks along the Middle Corridor and increasing cargo transportation along it,” the document reads.

Hungary also sees Azerbaijan as an important partner in promoting its interests in the UN international program SPECA (special program for the economies of Central Asian countries).

“Last year Hungary participated in SPECA activities in Baku as a guest but wants to be more active in the future,” the protocol noted.

Meanwhile, the middle corridor is one of SPECA's top priorities.

However, as for other prospects of transport cooperation, Azerbaijan is interested in the Hungarian electronic system of charging tolls for passengers and cargo transportation, and this model will be explored.

Hungary to supply Azerbaijan with modern Ikarus buses with electric motors before COP29
taking into account the increased demand for electric transport during COP29.

“The Hungarian side expressed readiness to organize in Azerbaijan an enterprise for the assembly and repair of public transport, in particular electric transport,” the protocol noted.
